The Nature of Value
I have had people tell me they focus their attention on their subscribers. And, I have understood that. Maybe not happily, but I have understood it.
When the focus is monetizing one’s writing, of course, one wants income in furtherance of this aim.
However, the thought that followers don’t have value or the “right” value seems devaluing to me. Instead of beginning with the thought “they don’t,” why not begin with the thought “they do?” What might be your experience then?
You see, others are not just here for you, you’re also here for them, whether you are actively aware of this or not. There is no separation between the two.
So, if you “don’t have the time,” my guess is you never will until you change the way you think.
Why not believe all you do will bring what you desire to you?
The narrowing of parameters is unnecessary, unless you believe it is.
Your beliefs will always determine your experiences.
Have you ever found yourself saying to another, “I won’t be able to connect with you until next week?” Have you noticed how the universe partners you on this? Life seems to conspire against you, while in truth, it’s conspiring with you. You created the parameters. The universe responded. If you want it to respond in a different way, get clear on the way you want it to respond.
So, if you only want subscribers, perhaps you can be clear about your aim? My guess is, there will be those willing to be that for you.
And, those who want more, will get more; they’ll identify those accounts who understand their value, not for what they can give, but because their value is intrinsic.
Their thought will be, “What can I give to you?”
“How can I help?”
“How can I see you better?”
“Let’s win together: when you win, I win.”
Energy never lies.
If you pay attention, it will be clear to you.
It’s always showing you the way….
And, while we do write for ourselves, for the joy of that experience, we also write for others; our love of that experience, any experience, really, gets translated. Love always draws others in…
It can’t help but do that.
